Conclusion of the 5th EU-Africa Business Forum

The 5th EU-Africa Business Forum held in Brussels on 31th March and 1st April 2014, in which more than 400 African and European Businessman where present, was concluded with great success.

The Hellenic African Chamber of Commerce and Development was represented in the Forum by its President Dr. Sotiris Mousouris, who along with a number of top Greek Businessmen, had the opportunity to participate in the discussions and make contacts with African counterparts.

The Forum was opened by the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Baroso and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission Mrs. N. Diamini Zuma and was closed by the President of the European Council Mr. Van Rompuy.

Among the topics of the panels and roundtables were the blending of the private with the public sectors towards an inclusive and sustainable growth, doing business in Africa and the investment climate, energy, risk capital for new enterprises, infrastructure and construction, raw materials and agriculture, healthcare and social entrepreneurship.

The equitable distribution of benefits between Africa and Europe in productive partnerships and the appropriate blending of the private and public sector where themes that were highlighted by many speakers. The gathering provided the opportunity for a broad exchange views and useful networking among the African and European participants.
